After North Korea's missile launch last Saturday, the South Korean military exchanged related data with Japan.
Seoul's defense ministry said Monday that it did so under their bilateral information sharing agreement GSOMIA.
The government decided to pull out of the pact last week, but the deal is still effective for roughly 90 more days, until November 22nd.
While there have been some differences seen in announcements from Seoul and Tokyo on the North's missile launch, the military said Seoul is in close coordination with Washington and is announcing facts based on its military assets.
