Rare earth minerals are used in everything from mobile phones to electric cars and Steenkampskraal, in South Africa's Western Cape, holds the highest grade of deposits in the world. Once it starts production this unassuming mine has big plans to contribute significantly to the global supply, especially amid the US China trade war.
