Taylor Swift to Re-Record Old Songs
After Scooter Braun Deal .
In June of this year, Braun purchased Swift's former label, Big Machine.
As a result, Braun gained majority ownership of
Swift's master recordings of her earlier work.
In a Tumblr post, the "You Need to Calm Down"
singer claimed she was denied a
reasonable chance to own her own work.
She said she was only "given an opportunity to
sign back up to Big Machine Records and 'earn' one
album back at a time, one for every new one I turned in.".
Now, a sneak peek of her upcoming appearance
on 'CBS Sunday Morning' indicates that Swift
intends to take matters into her own hands.
When asked if she plans to re-record
the music in question, Swift merely replied,
"oh yeah" and "yeah, absolutely.".
Kelly Clarkson might have given
her the idea, tweeting about the
ordeal shortly after it happened:.
@taylorswift13 just a thought, U should go in & re-record all the songs that U don’t own the masters on exactly how U did them but put brand new art & some kind of incentive so fans will no longer buy the old versions. I’d buy all of the new versions just to
prove a point, Kelly Clarkson, via Twitter
