A video has surfaced in which a BSF soldier, Tej Bahadur Yadav, says that he and other soldiers sometimes have to sleep hungry because senior officers ell of the provisions sent by the government.
Yadav also shows the almost-inedible food that he and other jawans are expected to eat and sustain them through their duties – which includes standing guard for 11 hours in snow-bound areas.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted that he had seen the video and has asked the Home Secretary to seek a report from the BSF and take appropriate action.
