Notre Dame Cathedral renovation work resumes after lead contamination fears
  • 5 years ago
Restoration work at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris resumed on August 19, 2019. The construction was halted on July 25 after a workplace inspection raised concerns that workers and local residents could be exposed to toxic levels of lead. The 850-year-old landmark was engulfed by flames on April 25, destroying its spire and lead roofing.
