Leh in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir has a hill known as Magnetic Hill. The vehicle is usually parked in a gear on a slippery hill. If this is not done, the vehicle may roll downwards and fall into the ditch, but on this magnetic hill, the vehicle is made to neutralize even then it does not go down. Surprise happens when the vehicle does not go downwards and automatically starts going upwards.

जम्मू-कश्मीर के लद्दाख क्षेत्र के लेह में एक ऐसी पहाड़ी है जिसे मैग्नेटिक हिल के नाम से जाना जाता है। सामान्यतौर पर पहाड़ी के फिसलन पर वाहन को गियर में डालकर खड़ा किया जाता है। यदि ऐसा नहीं किया जाए तो वाहन नीचे की ओर लुढ़ककर खाई में गिर सकता है लेकिन इस मैग्नेटिक हिल पर वाहन को न्यूट्रल करने खड़ा कर दिया जाए तब भी यह नीचे की और नहीं जाता। आश्चर्य तो तब होता है जबकि वाहन नीचे की ओर नहीं जाकर खुद ब खुद उपर की ओर जाने लगता है।
