Unheralded Sri Lanka sprung the highest successful run chase in Champions Trophy history to beat India by seven wickets at The Oval on Thursday.
Defending champion India made an imposing 321/6, the fourth highest total in Trophy history, but Sri Lanka trumped that with 322-3 with eight balls to spare. This, despite skipper Angelo Mathews stepping out to play his first international in 10 months and also with two key batsmen Tharanga and Kapugadera ruled out of injury.
