The Quint: Is Delhi Ready to Go Cashless After Demonetisation?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the government are encouraging people to switch to a digital regime and go cashless to rein in corruption.
PM has asked people to popularise the government's thrust on digital transactions as a "way of life", saying those who are aware of the exercise should be made to use it.
But the ground reality is that not many are aware of the digital methods of transactions. Many have no access to internet or cannot afford smart phones.
The Quint visited certain pockets of New Delhi and interacted with the common man. We met people in areas like Madanpur Khadar, Sangam Vihar, Sarita Vihar etc. We tried to learn if they had an idea of what was e-wallet, online banking, UPI etc.
And here's what we found out.
