Yao hopes PH team can come to China

MANILA, Philippines – NBA All-Star center Yao Ming hopes that a Filipino basketball team can one day travel to China to showcase its unique Filipino brand of basketball to the Chinese. Yao and his team, the Shanghai Sharks, played a goodwill game against the Gilas Pilipinas national team and will be playing against a PBA selection on Tuesday night. During a courtesy call on Vice President Jejomar Binay on Monday, Yao said basketball has grown to be very popular in China in the past 20 to 30 years, but said it can be used to improve the relations between China and the Philippines. -- Mornings @ ANC, May 7, 2013
