McIlroy picks up Best Male Golfer award

Rory McIlroy picked up the Golf Writers Association of America award for the Best Male Golfer of the Year. The 23-year-old northern Irishman won the award by a landslide, picking up 190 of the 194 votes cast to cap a year which saw him reach the world number 1 spot take the PGA championship title and help Team Europe win the Ryder Cup. After an equipment change this year, he has now proclaimed himself 100 percent comfortable with his golf swing and new clubs.
