Indian Coast Guard rescues crew after vessel catches fire in Bay of Bengal

Indian Coast Guard rescued the crew of a vessel that caught fire off the coast of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh today (August 12).

According to witnesses onboard of the vessel, there was a loud explosion that was followed by thick smoke and flames emanating from the boat.

Footage shows officers throwing life preservers to fishermen in the water.

Further footage shows ships spraying water onto the burning vessel in order to extinguish the fire.

All the members of the crew were rescued except for one man who is still missing.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
