President Donald Trump announced his pick to be the acting director of national intelligence. Joseph Maguire, the leader of the National Counterterrorism Center, is the new pick. The news came after Trump said Sue Gordon, the country's number two intelligence official, would resign. According to CNN, Trump previously mentioned in the he preferred to have a political loyalist in the role. Gordon would have become the Director of National Intelligence after Dan Coats resigned.
