He has supported the government's decision, saying that they cannot support condemning it blindly. He has said that it has many positive aspects. Significantly, Karan Singh is a Congress leader and his party has officially opposed it. The Congress has split in two parts on the government's decision to remove Article 370 related to the grant of special state status to Jammu and Kashmir.

जम्मू-कश्मीर पर मोदी सरकार के फैसले को लेकर डॉक्टर कर्ण सिंह ने गुरुवार को एक लंबा-चौड़ा लिखित बयान जारी किया है। उन्होंने सरकार के फैसले का समर्थन करते हुए कहा है कि वे इसकी आंख मूंद कर निंदा करने का समर्थन नहीं कर सकते। उन्होंने कहा है कि इसमें ढेर सारे सकारात्मक पहलू हैं। गौरतलब है कि कर्ण सिंह कांग्रेस नेता हैं और उनकी पार्टी ने आधिकारिक तौर पर इसका विरोध किया है।सरकार के जम्‍मू-कश्‍मीर को विशेष राज्‍य का दर्जा देने से संबंधित आर्टिकल 370 को हटाने के फैसले पर कांग्रेस दो हिस्‍सों में बंट गई है. कांग्रेस के वरिष्‍ठ नेता डॉ कर्ण सिंह ने इस मसले पर सरकार के फैसले का समर्थन किया है.
