South Korea's foreign ministry said the two ministers discussed the trade row between South Korea and Japan.
Wang said global free trade, supported by the World Trade Organization, should continue, and that countries should try to move their relations forward after learning lessons from the past.
Referring to North Korea's latest missile launches, Wang also said North Korea and U.S. should continue dialogue.
