UAAP upholds new residency rule
MANILA, Philippines – The UAAP Board of Trustees has announced that it will uphold the controversial rule requiring high school athletes of a UAAP-member school to undergo a two-year residency if they will transfer to a different UAAP school for college. The rule, which was met by a wave of criticism from athletes and fans, was meant to prevent “piracy” among UAAP schools, according to National University’s Junel Baculi. The UAAP Board is currently working on the explanatory rules of the new residency rule. -- Mornings @ ANC, April 17, 2013
