UN Security Council to meet on Thursday over North Korea recent missile launches
  • 5 years ago
Britain, Germany and France have requested the UN Security Council hold a closed-door meeting Thursday to discuss North Korea's recent missile launches.
Speaking on Wednesday,... a spokesman for the UN said Secretary General Antonio Guterres believes the launches are "just another reminder of the importance of restarting talks on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula".
The launches violate UNSC resolutions as Pyeongyang is subject to sanctions over its illicit use of ballistic missile technology.
