Massive blaze breaks out in residential building in western India

Terrifying visuals have emerged of a residential building on flames and black smoke billowing into the air in western India.

The incident took place at around 12 pm local time at Jagatpur-Gota locality near Nirma University in Gujarat’s state’s Ahmedabad city.

The blaze broke out on the fourth and fifth floors of the multi-storey Ganesh Genesis residential building.

It was reported that a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder exploded in a house on the fifth floor of the building, triggering the fire that spread upwards.

Footage shows fire brigade and police officials at the spot and trying to douse the fire.

According to reports, all 30 people trapped in the building have been rescued.

Two people suffered injuries and their condition are reported to be serious.
