What do baking soda, citric acid, vinegar, and Epsom salts have in common? That's right — they're all excellent ingredients for creating your own dishwasher tabs. Take a look at how easy it is!

You'll Need (for approx. 48 tabs):

- 1 cup baking soda
- 1 cup citric acid
- ½ cup Epsom salts
- 4 fl oz white vinegar
- 20 drops lemon essential oil (optional)
- 2 or more ice cube trays

Here's How:

1. First mix the baking soda, citric acid, and Epsom salts. Then add the white vinegar to the mixture. This will help prevent any buildup of limescale in the future. Don't worry if the mixture starts to fizzle a bit — it's simply the vinegar reacting with the baking soda and is totally harmless.

2. Though it's not a must, we recommend using lemon essential oil to give the tabs a pleasant odor. It'll also leave your cutlery smelling wonderful.

3. Now use a tablespoon to fill each of the ice cube molds in the tray, pressing the mixture down firmly. It's best to leave the tabs to dry for 24 hours in a warm place.

4. Once they're dry, you can simply pop the tabs out. If the tabs end up being too large, you can cut them into smaller pieces using a sharp knife.
