American aircraft maker Boeing reported a massive Q2 loss of $2.9 billion on Wednesday following the grounding of its flagship 737 Max jet.

This is the company's biggest loss in history, topping a $1.6 billion setback during the financial crisis in 2009.

Boeing made no delivery of any 737 MAX planes in this quarter.
