Rutger Hauer Dead at 75
According to Page Six, the
Dutch actor died at home on June 19.
He had been battling
an unspecified illness.
A rep for Hauer told 'Variety' that his funeral took place on Wednesday.
"This is not news, but he was a great guy and a great actor."
Hauer was most known for playing Roy Batty in 'Blade Runner.'
He also had memorable roles in
'Sin City' and 'Batman Begins.'
He won a Golden Globe for
best supporting actor in
1987's 'Escape from Sobibor.'
Hauer was also a devoted environmentalist
and had an AIDS awareness organization,
the Rutger Hauer Starfish Association.
