Boris Johnson is new Conservative leader

Boris Johnson has been elected as leader of the Conservative Party with 92,153 votes to Jeremy Hunt’s 46,656. The result was announced at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster. The former foreign secretary and Mayor of London will be confirmed as prime minister on Wednesday. In a speech Mr Johnson reiterated the "mantra" of his campaign of "deliver Brexit, unite the country and defeat Jeremy Corbyn". Report by Jonesia.
