Algiers, Jul 19 (EFE), (Camera: Natalia Roman).- The new Algerian "feminist space" meets every Friday to demand changes for the situation of the women in the country and their right to be free and equal in a highly male chauvinist society.

Women of all ages started marching -as the rest of Algerians- on February 22 to demand the fall of the military regime led by the President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

On June 21, fifty civil society activists, members of associations and independent women went a step further and met  in the city of Tighremt to lay the foundations of a "feminist and autonomous" political movement that fights for change the laws.
