Meanwhile, Japan is reportedly refusing to meet with South Korea next week to discuss the export curbs.
And Tokyo is believed to have taken measures to stop South Korea from importing the materials from Japan through third countries.
Kim Ji-yeon reports.
Japan has reportedly rebuffed South Korea's proposal to hold another working-level meeting by next Wednesday on Tokyo's export curbs.
Citing government sources, Japan's Kyodo News reported Wednesday that Tokyo believes it will be difficult to have another meeting at this time since mutual trust has been damaged.
A senior official at Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry was quoted as saying "the relationship of trust has been broken."
Kyodo News added the Japanese trade ministry plans to answer South Korea's inquiries about the trade restrictions by email or other means instead of face-to-face meetings.
Japan is also reportedly taking steps to curb chip material exports to South Korea via a third country.
This option was viewed as a possible measure for South Korean chipmakers to take as the two countries' diplomatic row is not showing any sign of being resolved in the near future.
Citing an official from the local semiconductor industry, the Seoul-based Kyunghyang Shinmun reported Wednesday... that Japan investigates the 'end user' of its regulated export items.
Because of this, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have concluded this option won't work.
This also comes as Japan has said it'll strongly request South Korea refer the dispute regarding compensation for the Korean victims of Japan's wartime forced labor... to a third-party arbitration board.
It warned all options are on the table if Seoul puts its expedition process into action to liquidate certain Japanese companies' South Korea-based assets.
