Planned Parenthood Federation of America replaced its president, Dr. Leana Wen. According to Reuters, they announced that Alexis McGill Johnson would replace Wen. They said Johnson is a “renowned social justice leader” and a “lifelong political organizer.” They also said she is “a tireless advocate for reproductive rights and access to quality, affordable health care.” Wen expressed surprise at the announcement but the organization did not say why she would be leaving.
