Disability-Themed Emojis In an effort to promote diversity, Apple is adding disability-focused emojis to their collection. The new characters were announced
to coincide with World Emoji Day. Users can expect to see a guide dog,
wheelchairs, prosthetic limbs and more. Apple submitted a proposal to include
disability-themed emojis to the
Unicode Consortium in March 2018. The tech giant notes that the new additions
are not comprehensive of all disabilities,
but will act as a starting point.
