The History of the Jaguar E-Type

On 15 March 1961 an E-Type Coupe was presented to the press at the Geneva Motor Show. The response to the shrill Jaguar was mostly positive. In Geneva alone, 500 E-Types were ordered. However It was initially not clear whether the E-Type could be presented in Geneva at all, because the car was finished so late that test driver Norman Dewis had to race the exhibit from Coventry to Geneva in the shortest time.
