Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slammed Stephen Miller over family separation.
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has blasted White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller, calling him out for his role in the separation of families at the border which she called "a policy of dehumanization," reports Politico.
During a House Oversight Committee hearing about the administration's border policy Friday, the New York lawmaker recounted some of the terrible stories she had heard from migrants who were detained including allegedly being advised to drink water out of the toilet and being forced to sleep on concrete floors.
She went on to decry the separation of children from their parents in front of the American flags hanging in the facilities, adding, "It is a policy of dehumanization implemented by this executive administration laid at the feet of Stephen Miller that creates a tinderbox of violence and dehumanization."
According to Business Insider, Miller had been identified as an instrumental figure in pushing for the administration's "zero tolerance" policy, which included family separations at the border with Mexico.
