Another Big Earthquake Hits Southern California

On Friday night, just after 8 p.m., another powerful earthquake hit Southern California.
Reuters reports that the quake registered at a magnitude of 7.1.
It started rumbling close to the town of Ridgecrest, near Death Valley National Park, which is about 125 miles northeast of Los Angeles.
The earthquake caused fires, some injuries, power outages, and damage to buildings.
Officials explained that it shook with "eight times more force than a foreshock that rattled the same area a day earlier.
