Offset's Felony Gun Charge
Has Been Dropped In July of 2018, Offset was pulled
over for an improper lane change,
and his vehicle was searched. Police allegedly found
firearms and marijuana. Offset was charged with possession
of a firearm by a convicted felon. According to TMZ, the Clayton County
District Attorney's Office announced the rapper
was cleared of all charges on July 1 of this year. But, this decision was reportedly made
at the request of the U.S. Attorney's Office
who is conducting a separate investigation. TMZ reports that the federal investigation is the main reason Offset was arrested in the first place, but feds don't want to go to trial and risk revealing why they are looking into the rapper's activity. Doing so "would alert other potential future parties to the investigation and evidence that may support federal charges against said parties." Offset's lawyer, Drew Findling,
denies knowing anything about
a federal investigation.
