Legalizing Pot Decreases Usage Among Younger People A new report says youths are smoking less marijuana in U.S. areas where the drug
has been declared legal. The analysis, which used figures
from 1993 until 2017, can be found in
the medical journal 'JAMA Pediatrics.' Montana State professor Mark Anderson, one of the paper's authors, adds that legalization for medical reasons was
not a factor. Mark Anderson, via report According to the report, legalization
has contributed to an 8% fall in pot use
by high schoolers over the last month. It adds that there is a 9% decrease for
those who smoked marijuana
over 10 times in that same period. Stanford professor of pediatrics
Bonnie Halpern-Felsher says it may
be due to pot sales in the street declining. Bonnie Halpern-Felsher,
