Retire Kevin Durant’s Jersey In a statement released to Twitter,
Warriors CEO Joe Lacob announced his
decision to retire Durant’s No. 35 jersey. Joe Lacob, via statement Many fans are calling Lacob’s choice “unusual,”
as Durant ended his three year period with the
Golden State Warriors in favor of the Brooklyn Nets. The move was reportedly due to Durant feeling under-
appreciated by the Warriors, as well as “overshadowed”
by Warrior’s point guard Stephen Curry. Despite the controversy, Lacob highly
praised Durant in his statement, calling
