Lifetime Announces Movie Based on the NXIVM Sex Cult The NXIVM sex cult scandal is the latest story to get the Lifetime movie treatment. Currently titled 'NXIVM Cult: A Mother’s Nightmare,' the project will focus on actress Catherine Oxenburg's fight to save her daughter from the cult. The film will star ‘Rescue Me’ actress Andrea Roth as Oxenberg, with Jasper Polish as her daughter. NXIVM was started by Keith Raniere and sold as a multi-level marketing company, viewed by many as a pyramid scheme. Rainere and his associate, 'Smallville' actress Allison Mack, were arrested after it was revealed that the company was involved in sex trafficking. He has been convicted on criminal charges, including sex-trafficking, racketeering, and conspiracy to commit forced labor.
