2010 Midterms, the practice has mostly helped republicans
since then. Gerrymandering cases from
North Carolina and
in Maryland were used in
the Supreme Court's decision. In North Carolina, Democrats argued that maps drawn up
by Republicans deliberately
helped the GOP. In Maryland it was the opposite, with Republicans accusing Democrats of the same thing. Redistricting occurs
every 10 years, meaning
maps will be drawn
up again in 2020.
