Saudi women drivers mark one year since being allowed behind the wheel
  • 5 years ago
It has been a year since women in Saudi Arabia were allowed to drive as the nation lifted the world’s only remaining ban on females operating vehicles. Since the ban was lifted on June 24, 2018, more than 100,000 licences have been issued to women in the Islamic country.  And one year on, the female drivers are being credited with having a positive influence on traffic safety in Saudi Arabia.
