Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi claimed trial at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on Wednesday to a new set of corruption charges involving S$4.24mil (RM12.91mil) which he allegedly received from a foreign visa system operator.
The former Home Minister faces a maximum jail time of 20 years and a fine no less than five times the amount of gratification or RM10,000, whichever is higher, if convicted.
