A South Korean consortium has secured a five-year maintenance deal for a nulcear plant in United Arab Emirates.
Seoul's trade ministry says the consortium of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power and KEPCO KPS won the long-term agreement to maintain the UAE's plant in Barakah.
The contract also calls for the consortium to provide experienced manpower to Nawah Energy Company, the operator of the plant.
KEPCO has been building four APR-1400 reactors in Barakah.
One of those units will have its first test run next year.
However, the scope of the deal was smaller than hoped as the South Korean firms had been pushing for a 15-year contract.
