New York Approves
Aggressive Climate Bill Come 2040, the legislation sees the state emitting electricity that is completely carbon-free. The bill also targets 70% renewable energy by the time 2030 rolls around. Democratic governor Andrew Cuomo
is expected to sign the measure. Over half a dozen other states
have also recently passed
substantial climate bills. They include California, Washington, Maine and
New York's own neighboring state, New Jersey. In terms of investment, the bill could be a big win for New York's economy, the third biggest in the U.S. With the state being America's
fourth-most populated, residents
will also welcome an
improved environment.
