Wealthy Nations Are More Likely
to Doubt Vaccines New research suggests that people living in high-income countries have the lowest confidence in vaccines. The Wellcome Trust surveyed more than 140,000 people in more than 140 countries. 8 in 10 people globally agreed that vaccines were safe. 20% of Europeans either disagree or are unsure of whether vaccines are safe. Bangladesh and Rwanda exhibited the strongest confidence in vaccines. France held the lowest confidence, with one-third of its population disagreeing that vaccines are safe.
