Ahead of his two-day visit to North Korea, Chinese President Xi Jinping wrote an op-ed for the North's ruling party newspaper Rodong Sinmun on Wednesday.
There, he stressed that China will strengthen its communication and coordination with North Korea to work towards peace and security on the Korean Peninsula.
Saying that China is happy to see a historic opportunity to resolve the Korean Peninsula issue,... the Chinese President emphasized that Beijing is willing to draft together with North Korea some long-term plans for lasting peace in the region.
Xi expressed support towards the North's new policy direction to develop the economy and improve North Korean's livelihoods.
