Pelicans and Lakers Agree to Deal for Anthony Davis New Orleans will trade
Davis to Los Angeles for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram,
Josh Hart and three first-round picks. The first-round picks include
this year's No. 4 overall selection. The Pelicans now have the
No. 1 and No. 4 picks
in the 2019 NBA Draft. The deal will not be officially completed until at least July 6. If the Lakers wait until July 30, they
could clear enough salary cap room
to sign another max free agent. Davis requested a trade in January, with
the Lakers as his preferred destination. Davis plans to sign a new contract with
the Lakers in 2020, according to ESPN. The Lakers will shift their focus on
signing free agent Kemba Walker,
according to 'The New York Times.' Los Angeles held onto one young talent,
Kyle Kuzma, who averaged 18.7 points
in his second NBA season.
