More than one million people marched through the streets of Hong Kong on June 9, 2019, according to organisers of the protest against a proposed change to the city’s extradition laws. Marchers opposed a government proposal to allow Hong Kong to extradite suspects to a wider list of jurisdictions including the Chinese mainland.
