FCC Permits US Phone Carriers
to Halt Robocalls Following a recent vote, the agency is letting
wireless companies shield customers from the unwanted calls. Recent reports show that on a monthly basis,
five billion robocalls are being made in the U.S. The tech is similar to how spam is detected by email providers on the internet. FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai,
via CNN Pai adds that customers who previously weren't aware that
they could get robocall detection will also now be protected. Some FCC members are still concerned that carriers
could end up charging customers for these features. FCC's Jessica Rosenworcel,
