Chinese students touch ‘Zongzi’ for good luck on the first day of university entrance exam

Students in Guangzhou City in southern China's Guangdong Province touched sticky rice dumplings (Zongzi) for good luck on the first day of the nation's famous university entrance exam.

In the video filmed today (June 7), students taking part in the university entrance exam touch the Zongzi hanging in front of a board before entering the exam hall.

The first day of the university entrance exam is also the Dragon Boat Festival, Zongzi is a traditional food to eat at the festival.

Since the pronunciation of "Zong" in Chinese is similar to "Zhong", which means "win" or "achieve". Students touch the "Zongzi" before taking the exams for good luck.
