The World's First Female CPR Dummy Aims to Save Women From
Cardiac Arrest The "Womanikin" was created by New York creative agency JOAN. Their team developed the concept after reading a study that women were 27% less likely than men to receive CPR in public. They hope to overcome the often lethal fear of administering CPR to women in public by normalizing women's body shape in trainings. The Womanikin is an attachment for the more standard, flat-chested CPR dummy. The launch coincides with National CPR Awareness, and includes a social media campaign to address, and reduce, the social stigma causing the issue.
