JSW Land Deal: Documents Reveal Govt Went Against Law Department Opinion |NewsX

The HDK-JSW sweetheart land deal is getting murkier. NewsX has exclusively accessed a cabinet note that was placed before the cabinet for approval. The document clearly shows that the govt went against its own law department's opinion to sell land to JSW. The law department asks for a thorough look into Lokayuktha report and loss to the exchequer caused by the private company and contrary to government's argument, the law department says government is not under immediate obligation to sell land. More interestingly, the advocate general of the state in his opinion claims he is unaware of any illegal mining proceedings against JSW steel while in reality a writ petition of NGO Samaj Parivarthan Sansthan is in the supreme court and several IAS are pending before the court.
