Apple has decided to shut down its iTunes music program after 18 years, …with plans to rebrand its entertainment services this fall.
At the annual Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday, Chief Executive Tim Cook announced that the media library for PCs will be replaced by three separate apps covering music, TV and podcasts.
The update will be part of the new MacOS operating system, Catalina, …and previous purchases and libraries will be maintained in each new app.
Those who used iTunes to sync up their Apple devices can now use a tool located in Finder on their Mac computers.
