South Korean government agencies and local officials in the border region near the North Korea are discussing measures to prevent the African Swine Fever reported in the North from spreading south.
During the one-hour long meeting on Monday,... the Ministry of Unification explained the plans to cooperate with Pyeongyang in a bid to prevent the disease from spreading further.
While the North has yet to respond to the South's call for cooperative measures,... the unification ministry says it will continues to urge the North to do its utmost to put strict quarantine measures in place.
Although the African swine fever is not harmful to people,... the fatality rate is 100 percent for pigs, with no cure currently available.
