PM Narendra Modi calls cabinet meet; all eyes on 37-member cabinet and their portfolios

After conclusion of the swearing in ceremony of the 58 members of parliament, including the prime minister, at the Raisina hills, all eyes now on who gets which portfolio. Sources tell your channel that the PM will hold his first cabinet meet after 2019 Lok Sabha polls at 5pm today. Portfolios of the high profile new inductees, Amit Shah and S Jaishankar will be closely watched. It is being speculated that the former foreign secretary S Jaishankar will be given the ministry of external affairs, as Sushma Swaraj is no longer part of PM's cabinet 2.0. Reports floating that Nirmala Sitharaman will retain defence, and Rajanth Singh will retain home ministry.
