Immigration Policy Plan The 2020 Democratic presidential candidate
unveiled his proposal to roll back Trump
administration policies on Wednesday. O’Rourke plans to rescind family separations at
borders, repeal the travel ban and fix policy changes
that have made qualifying for asylum difficult. O’Rourke campaign,
via statement Most notably, the plan would halt government-
funded border wall construction, while leaving
private property decisions up to the owner. Beto O’Rourke,
via ‘CNN’ O’Rourke's plan goes on to explain his intent to find
a legislative solution for members of the Deferred
Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, as well as invest $5 billion into Central America to
address the root causes of migration into the U.S. The plan also calls for reduced migrant
detention in favor of community-based
programs and family case management. Additionally, for-profit detention centers
would no longer receive federal funding.
