The killer queues of Ukraine - BBC News

Ukraine’s simmering war with Russia-backed fighters has claimed the lives of 13 thousand people for the 5 years.

It is a war which the country's newly elected president Volodymyr Zelensky - a former comedian with no political experience - will have to address.
But a surprisingly large number of civilians die in a more unexpected way - collapsing in the queues to cross the front line.
Most of those crossing are elderly as they can only collect their Ukrainian pension from Ukrainian territory.
At least 18 people have died waiting in queues since December 2018.
